The annual visit to the shrimp festival in downtown Fernandina Beach this
morning produced a year-first Gray Kingbird, as it has for several
years.  The location was also the same as in previous years -- near the
corner of Atlantic and 9th.  Obviously this is one of the northernmost
locations in the state for this species.  The other highlights were some
very cool fused glass and very unique ceramics with bas-relief native
birds.  I should add that it was hot as Hades by 10:30 am and the crowds
were large.
