Hi all,
Regarding Dick's question about what field marks other birders use first
to id an immature Night-Heron, I tend to first look at the spotting or
lack thereof, but almost simultaneously look at the bill color too. It
sometimes depends on which is easier to see.
Bill size and leg length can be iffy so I rarely use those features.
