Just wanted to report that the possible (dare I say probably?) Slaty-backed
Gull was seen in Key West this morning, staring pensively out at the ocean
and occasionally bullying some of the surrounding Laughing Gulls.

Any one who makes the trip to see it and wants to talk to the guy who found
it should stop at Curry Hammock State Park (mile marker 52-ish, between
Grassy Key and the Marathon business district) and talk to Gerard Phillps.
He'll be standing on the back of the restrooms, counting hawksm between 9
a.m. and 5 p.m.

Happy birding,

Mark Hedden
Key Wesy
