We pulled the plug on COMPASS last spring and are looking at ACCUPLACER. We simply could not get it to work across our NT network, regardless of the patches and suggestions we got. In fact, the last I heard about the whole issue was that the dean was looking at ways we could recoup some of the upfront investment we made since COMPASS never could deliver what we were told. We have had a number of problems and will probably not be continuing with it. I am just curious, I guess, as to whether the problems you had could give me some insight into the problems we've had. We pulled the plug (literally on COMPASS) and have begun our investigation of ACCUPLACER. WE find it works well and are very pleased with the sturcture of the test items and the fact that it, like COMPASS, is untimed. Dr. Mark K.
