Duties:
Supervise
        individualized, arranged Speed Reading, MS Office Suite, and
        other  credit courses
Supervise individualized, non-credit
        programs
Coordinate all Learning Center teaching and
        activities
Supervise and mentor graduate assistants
Supervise
        student assistants
Maintain and report data on courses and
        programs
Revise and update programs and courses as needed and
        develop new curriculum

Required:
Master*s degree (minimum)
        in English, math, reading, or related field
        Tenure requires
        a second master*s degree, Education Specialist*s degree or
        a
        doctorate within five years
College teaching experience in
        related field(s)

Preferred:
Education Specialist or double
        master*s degree in related field
Experience working with
        individualized instruction and/or academic support services at
        the post-secondary level
Experience designing and implementing
        instructional strategies and materials (curriculum development)

        Experience in teaching multiple developmental areas

Knowledge of and experience utilizing instructional
        technology and software
        In particular, familiarity  with
        MS Office applications
Ability to identify and respond to
        educational trends and institutional needs
Strong
        organizational, communication, leadership, and teamwork skills

        Capable of effectively consulting and collaborating with
        staff, faculty, and
         administrators
Scholarly
        activity
Involvement in professional organizations

Due to the retirement of the Learning Center coordinator, the Department
of Academic Enrichment at Central Missouri State University will have a
position opening beginning January 2003.  The position opening begins
January 2003 but if necessary can be held until Fall 2003 for the best
qualified candidate.  Description of the position and details on the
