The General College, University of Minnesota, invites applications and nominations for the position of Director of Development and Alumni Relations.The director is responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of annual and long-range development and alumni relations activities.

The General College was founded in 1932.Its mission is to provide University access for high-potential students who seek to pursue a college education at a research institution and would benefit from GC’s innovative developmental curriculum and student support services.The college during recent years has positioned itself as a leading developmental education research center with a fine national reputation.


The Director of Development and Alumni Relations reports to the Dean of the General College and coordinates activities with the University of Minnesota Foundation Office.The appointment is 100%, 12-month, academic professional, initially appointed to a three-year contract, with a six-month probationary period.(Job Code 9354). Salary minimum of $60,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.Start date:January 2003 or as soon as search is completed.
