Sometimes, but not often, there's something to be gained by hanging onto
things forever.

My Birds of North America 1936 edition, under Common Tern description,
lists "Wilson's Tern" as an alternate name, (also "Mackeral Gull, Sea
Swallow, Summer Gull, Bass Gull, and Red-shank").

No, I wasn't quite yet birding then.
