Carole Troup has done it again! Although a very new birder, she has a way
with her digital camera and found this Common Loon around the corner from
her house on the lawn of a neighbor next to the driveway.

It was quite a shock to Carole who thought it was a cat at first, and the
long-bodied bird lying on what appears to be St. Augustine grass, certainly
could be mistaken for a large cat. Thankfully, she had her camera with her.
The bird had reached a point about 80 feet away from the saltwater canal
that borders Carole's house. What a great yard bird!
