We are in our second year of using Weaver Instructional Systems (Speed
Reader and Reading Efficiency). The trial edition may not give you a
complete picture of how the program might interface with your computer lab
setup -- or whether it will meet the objectives expressed in your curriculum
design. If you want specific information about my instructional experiences
using this software, please contact me off-list at (714-564-4512) or

We have used Weaver for several years in our developmental reading

class. I am pleased with it, and the students seem to like it. I

places students at their level, and works on both vocabulary and

comprehension. It is much more reasonable than PLATO I believe.

Does anyone have any experience with the Weaver Instructional System? We
are trying to decide on a computer-based system to enhance our developmental
reading classes in the reading center. We are looking into Plato or Weaver.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for your time.
