Visited Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve yesterday and the first birds
encountered were a pair of beautiful Swallow-tailed Kites. One was eating a
frog. The usual waders were around also an Eastern Phoebe, not many warblers
except for the ever-present Yellow-rumped. The Southern Blue Flag (Iris
virginicus) are in bloom and they are beautiful.
