Academic Counselor for Conditionally Admitted Students
Coordinator of Undergraduate Tutoring
The College of Humanities & Sciences invites applications for two 12-month administrative faculty positions: (1) Academic Counselor for Conditionally Admitted Students and (2) Coordinator of Undergraduate Tutoring.
The Academic Counselor will provide guidance and support for students admitted provisionally to the university to acquire skills needed for academic success through orientation and team building activities, academic advising, intrusive monitoring and academic counseling, learning communities, and a year-long freshman experience course. Qualifications include a Master's degree in an area related to academic advising, three years experience in student academic support programs in a college or university setting preferred; previous experience in facilitating large and small groups and excellent written, interpersonal, and organizational skills required. Salary range: $28,500 to $31,500.
The Coordinator of Undergraduate Tutoring is a new position that will facilitate academic support in a range of subjects via hiring, training, monitoring, and evaluating a qualified pool of undergraduate and graduate tutors. This position will establish a campus-wide tutoring program and provide leadership and supervision to a cadre of tutors who will assist students to acquire skills needed for academic success and to enhance, support, and supplement learning. Qualifications include a Master's degree in higher education administration, student personnel, adult development, curriculum and instruction, or related area; three years of experience working in a college or university tutoring center or other related support service; experience interacting with college-level faculty and students; working knowledge of technological applications in learning assisted instruction and tutoring support; excellent written, interpersonal, and organizational skills required. Salary range: $32,500 to $36,500.
