The Department of Sociology and the Department of Speech
Communications at the University of Illinois at Urbana-
Champaign invite applications for a full-time joint position
at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin
August 16, 2005.  We seek outstanding candidates whose
interests focus on the social dimensions of information and
communication technologies, and specialties may include any
of the following areas: global communication and new media,
social implications of information technologies, social
networks, digital inequality, technology and identity,
cyberculture, and/or social capital and information
technology.  Junior candidates should have or be near to
completing their PhD by August 16, 2005.  Salary will be
competitive and contingent on qualifications and
experience.  Please send curriculum vitae, writing samples,
