FALL 2005 SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENT: Schedule adjustment for Fall 2005 will

Microsoft issued three important security alerts last week. All were given
a 'critical' severity rating, which is Microsoft's highest severity

3.  SERVICE: Volunteerism Questionnaire:
Have you participated in community service within the last six months?
Would you be willing to complete a questionnaire on volunteerism? It
should take no more than fifteen minutes to complete, and your personal
information will be kept confidential. If you are interested, please

survey that is part of a thesis study on student volunteer motivation.

4.  LEADERSHIP: SG Applications:
Student Government applications for Cabinet Assistant Directors and
Freshman Leadership Council are now available on the 3rd floor of the
Reitz Union. The deadline for submission is September 7 at 5:00 pm.

5.  LEADERSHIP: Open Positions in IMAGE:
Be empowered to create change in our community!  You are invited to apply
for a committee director position in IMAGE, or In Movement Against General
Eyedeals. Open positions include secretary, social, public relations,
webmaster, and solicitations. We strive to accomplish our goals through
mentoring children, socials and seminars. Please e-mail

6.  OPPORTUNITY: Public Health Programs:
Have you considered the exciting field of Public Health? Qualified
students can begin their journey towards a Master of Public Health degree
in their senior year. The College of Public Health & Health Professions at
UF offers a combined degree program that allows you to apply 15 credit
hours of public health courses to both your undergraduate degree and your
master's degree in public health. Alternatively, you can complete your
undergraduate program and then enter the MPH program, a 48- credit option

7.  OPPORTUNITY: Gator Growl Casting:
Ever wanted to grace the big screen? Gator Growl currently is casting for
several skits that will be shown at this year's show. No experience or
preparation is required. Stop by 349 Reitz any time between 3:00- 6:00 pm
on July 26 for your chance to make history! Those auditioning will not
have to stay for the duration of the casting call. A current photograph is

8.  OPPORTUNITY: IT Security Awareness Video Contest:
How can you win cash, gain experience and earn recognition all in one
endeavor? Win the IT Security Awareness Video contest! The UF IT Security
Team is helping Educause/I2 Computer and Network Security Task Force
promote an IT Security Awareness Video contest. Videos can cover a variety
of IT security topics, be three minutes or less and targeted toward other

9.  OPPORTUNITY: Strong Gator 2005 Competition:
On July 24 at 12:00 pm, the Department of Recreational Sports (Strength
and Conditioning Program) will be hosting a clinic on strongman lifting
technique followed by Strong Gator, Round 2. This competition is open to
the UF community and will determine who is UF's strongest gator. Events
include the Olympic Deadlift, Atlas Stone, Crucifix Hold, Farmers Walk,
and Medley. Registration is free to the UF community, but space is

10. EVENT: Summer B Weeks of Welcome:
The Dean of Students Office would like to invite you to join us for our
Weeks of Welcome (WOW!) program throughout the Summer B session. Several
departments and organizations have planned a variety of social and
educational events through July 30 to welcome new and continuing students
to the university. Events include BBQs, service learning opportunities, an
organization fair, the First-Year Florida Convocation, and Gatormania, a

11. EVENT: Museum Nights:
Come to The Florida Museum of Natural History and the Samuel P. Harn
Museum of Art from 5:00-10:00 pm on July 21. Dress in your best sun wear
and flip flops to celebrate this summer's Museum Nights bash with friends.
Sarah Tobing, local guitarist, will play at the Harn Museum at 6:00 pm.

12. EVENT: Gator Dining Events:
Join us every Thursday from 4:30-7:30 pm during Summer B for BBQ dinners
at Gator Corner Dining Center. Use your All Campus Meal Plan or $6.90 for
cash customers. This Thursday, July 21, All-You- Can-Eat Southern BBQ
featuring Pork Ribs, BBQ Leg Quarters, Baked Potato Bar, Collard Greens,
Baked Beans, Garlic Bread and Ice Cream for dessert.

13. EVENT: Faces Modeling Troupe:
The University of Florida Chapter of Faces Modeling Troupe will have an
Interest Meeting/ Fashion Show on July 21 at 7:00 pm at the Reitz Union
Colonnade. Model training will be July 22, 23, 25-27 in 2319 Turlington.

14. EVENT: Progressive Black Men Events:
Are you bored this summer? Want to find out where the real fun is? The UF
Chapter of Progressive Black Men, Inc. is proud to announce its summer

15. EVENT: Gator Growl Tickets:
Impersonation and improvisation will meet on stage as Wayne Brady, star of
Whose Line Is It Anyways?, has been signed to appear at the 80th Annual
University of Florida Gator Growl "Revenge of the Swamp" on October 7 at
Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Student tickets, priced at $5.00 each until
15,000 are sold, are on sale now and only can be purchased through the
University Box Office in the Constans Theatre. General public admission
