Valdis, Tom,

My suspicion is that trying to critique serious research via a 10 paragraph
summation in the popular (or at least quasi-popular ...) press may not be so
helpful - the press is, unfortunately, notoriously bad at reporting this
kind of information. This is of course not to say that it is or isn't crap -
just that it's impossible to tell. Has anyone actually had the time to look
over the research paper referred to in the news piece? (I haven't) I wonder
if the physicists took the time to confer with anyone who does real work in
the field....
