Sorry, but according to http://www.analogman.com/singblues.htm, possession of a computer disqualifies one from singing the blues. What worries me is the potential for "out of office" loops. Users set up automatic out-of-office messages. Listserv message arrives at email boxes, which automatically generate out-of-office replies. Out-of-office replies go to listserv, which sends them out to everyone, including the out-of-office boxes, which generate replies to the listserv, which sends them out to everyone... Disintegration of Internet results in due course, followed by inexplicable increase in workplace productivity, especially marked in the education sector. -----Original Message----- From: Open Forum for Learning Assistance Professionals [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Susan Jones Sent: Monday, June 06, 2005 10:29 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Edukcational Listserv Blues Education, education it's a messy administration We've got technology we love to use But it gives me the implementation blues. Email groups! A great invention Like a whenever-you-want convention. Post a great idea- out it goes! Everybody shares and grows. Ah, but we've got special abilities To reverse high-tech utlitiles. Instead of 1 message to 50 of we, It's 50 messages saying "Send it to me!" I guess the only way to add to this Would be to ask everyone to unsubscribe me from the list :-) I've got technology I love to use But it's giving me the implementation blues... Suppose I could sit here and weep and moan But I do have a website of my own If files for this list need an online home Though they'd be Out On THe Web, where the Spiders roam So the files would be there for all the world to see, Which may be just a little bit too free. YahooGroups has email lists With places to upload files like this. We'd have tolerate interminable ads And privacy invasions and other fads I've got high tech stuff that I love to use But Ive got the implementation blues... Please send replies to the list -- I'm facing the same challenge this summer. (One thing I'm looking into is putting our training materials on-line, so I'd appreciate any thoughts in that area as well.)
