Zarin UF Translation Studies Program [log in to unmask] www.translationstudies.ufl.edu RE: TRANSLATORS DAY GUEST LECTURE In observance of Translators Day, the UF Translation Studies Program and American Translators Association's Florida chapter are cosponsoring a guest lecture, "Walking a Mile in a Translator's Shoes: Some Tricks of the Trade for the World's Most Important Profession" by Kirk Anderson, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, 30 September 2006 in Room 346 of the J. Wayne Reitz Union on the UF campus in Gainesville, Florida. Kirk Anderson is an official speaker of the American Translators Association (ATA) and an certified ATA Spanish-French-English certified translator. He has published translations of over 50 writers from more than 20 different countries. He also teaches Translation of Journalism and Advertising at Florida International University. Translators Day is a worldwide opportunity to educate the public about the importance of the translating profession. Join the UF Translation Studies Program in learning important practical skills to operate a successful freelance translation business and to compete effectively in the growing translation marketplace with a UF translator certificate.
