Susan,

Nassau Community College serves many developmental students. We have over 21,000 students on our campus and many of them are developmental math students. While we have tried many different approaches over the past few years to help with remediation, we have found the on-line A+dvancer learning program to be very successful.

A+dvancer is a program that can be used to assess and to assist developmental students in areas of math, reading and English. It is a computer-based instructional/tutorial program that has proven to help students succeed!

The students are first asked to take an assessment "test" to identify their strenghts and weaknesses. After the assesment is completed, individualized prescriptive coursework is assigned to the student either automatically by the computer, or by a staff member at your office. The beauty is that students can work in a designated computer lab/classroom, and they can work on the coursework from home.

The results have been amazing! Ad+vancer has been instrumental for the students and fr our college, as it has lowered remediation (particularly in math) on our campus!

You can view a demo by looking at the website www.advancerlearning.com

It is inexpensive and effective! We are very pleased with the product, and so are our students!
