Conference Objectives and Themes
The rapid spread of HIV/Aids in the world calls for action through a
partnership of developmental institutions, businesses and the health sector.
Businesses have a vital role in achieving sustainable development both as
employers, and producers. The conference aims to provide a forum for
businesses, development agencies and practitioners, health professionals,
educators, and NGOs. The principal themes of the conference include the
epidemiology of HIV/AIDS, economics of treatment strategies, medical
breakthroughs and health initiatives, role of the pharmaceutical industry,
brands versus generics, demographic and employment impacts, implications for
public finances, education, and related issues.
