However, the ATP is happy to announce that the seventh in its series of on-line workshops, Outcomes, Objectives and Assessment of Academic Support Programs, will be offered as an open entry/open exit workshop where participants may visit any module at any time. This workshop will be offered July 7 through August 13, 2006. Registration will end June 28, 2006. The workshop topics include: s Why Assess? s Quantitative Data s Interviews, Surveys and Focus Groups s Benchmarking s Using CATs for Assessing Tutoring s Evaluating By Appointment Tutoring and Peer Coaching s Seven Steps to Assessment The workshop topics have been developed to meet the needs of individuals with little experience in assessment techniques but will also serve individuals and programs that have more experience in assessing academic support. It is the goal of the workshop to allow participants to get a very broad view of the range of assessment possibilities and for developing and assessment strategies. Each participant will work independently, but on-going communication on the discussion board for each module will allow everyone to share experiences and network with other professionals. Workshop presenters include: Johanna Dvorak (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee), Lee Helbert-Gordon (Prairie State College), Darla McCann (Anoka Ramsey Community College), Jack Truschel (East Stroudsburg University) Jim Valkenburg (Delta College), Pamela Way (University of Texas-Austin). The intended audience is tutors and tutor trainers. This workshop will count as two CEUs toward tutor or tutor trainer certification, but active participation on the discussion board is required to earn the certificate of completion. The cost of this workshop is $40 for ATP members and $65 for non-members. However, you may become a member and enroll for the workshop at the same time. You may register for the workshop on-line at http://www.jsu.edu/depart/edprof/atp/ <http://www.jsu.edu/depart/edprof/atp/> . Checks must be received before participants are registered into the workshop. Once payment is received, participants will be registered and passwords e-mailed. Instructions for the use of the teaching/learning platform will also be sent to each participant.
