Questions about the following call for proposals may be directed to Pinder Naidu at [log in to unmask] The ATP "Magic of Learning" Conference Call For Proposals The Association of The Tutoring Professional Invites You To Join Us In Orlando April 1st - 4th, 2007 At The Sheraton World Resort Hotel ATP 2007 Conference ATP invites you to submit a proposal for presentation at the 3rd annual conference of the ATP. ATP welcomes proposals from directors, coordinators, tutoring professionals, administrative staff, faculty, tutors, vendors and other educational professionals involved in the tutoring profession. Format of Sessions Sessions are scheduled in 60 minute or 90 minute blocks that include time for the presentation followed by questions and answers. Presentation types are listed below to help guide you. Presentations: An oral summary of research or innovative practice in the tutoring Field. Demonstrations: In a demonstration the presenter shows a particular technique using visual aids and/or manipulatives as needed. Workshops: A workshop contains very little lecture, but lot of hands on activities for participants. The presenter works with groups to help solve problems and envision new ideas. Panel Discussions: A panel of presenters help to present a formal presentation, followed by discussions that involve all attendees. New Poster Sessions: A poster session is a poster display of work that is tutoring or Tutor-center related. Be prepared to give a personal one-on-one overview to people who stop by your poster. Proposal Requirements 1) Title 2) Session description- maximum of 50 words to be included in conference program 3) Summary- One page maximum stating the proposals purpose, outline of content, significance to tutoring, relevance, and intended audience. 4) A short biography of the presenters that can be included in the conference program. Presenter (s) requirements 1) Fill in all fields on the "Call for Proposals Form," found at http://www.jsu.edu/depart/edprof/atp/ATP%20Proposal_07.pdf <BLOCKED::BLOCKED::http://www.jsu.edu/depart/edprof/atp/ATP Proposal_07.pdf> , and submit the form in a timely manner. (Proposal deadline is November 1st sending in a proposal earlier increases your odds of acceptance.) 2) All presenter (s) must register and pay fees. 3) All presenter (s) are responsible for providing session handouts. 4) Please note: Presenters will be responsible for any costs associated with the use of the Internet or computing equipment.
