NY State Requsts Proposals for Cellulose-Based Ethanol Pilot Plants The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets and the New York Energy Research & Development Authority are currently accepting proposals to develop and construct a pilot-scale facility to produce ethanol from cellulosic biomass feedstocks. Up to $20 million is available to as many as four proposers or teams. The proposer must successfully demonstrate the technical, financial, business, and organizational capability to construct a pilot-scale ethanol facility and use the information to develop a commercial-scale production facility.
