Hello: I use and very much like "Higher Learning: Reading and Writing about College" by See and Taylor. Each reading is really short so several can be assigned at one time. I show related film clips which seem to really engage student learning and help to make the points related to both self development and critical thinking. The book is published by Pearson/Prentice Hall. The course focuses more on student development than study skills and uses On Course by Skip Downing. Can anyone recommend a good companion reader that helps students develop critical thinking skills while practicing their reading skills? Stephen O.
