The attached site offers a summary sheet of daily production and consumption
values and transportation percentages. Add it to your interim education
effort.

Note: Based on the information provided for a 100 million gallon per yer
ethanol plant consuming one million dry tons of shelled corn annually,
combined with the daily gasoline consumption listed at 385 million gallons
per day, 1874 ethanol plants consuming 1874 million tons of dry shelled
corn are required to displace the gasoline used in the US.

Doubling the CAFE mileage standards would cut the gasoline usage in half. I
would like to suggest that BEST-L organize a petition letter to the US
Congress demanding an increase in the CAFE standards.
