The Center for European Studies (CES) at the University of Florida is soliciting proposals for its Graduate Student Brownbag Series. Graduate students in any discipline, whose research focuses on Europe (broadly defined), are encouraged to submit proposals. Students whose proposals are selected will be invited to present their research at the weekly brownbag series. Proposals should consist of a short (150 words) description of the research project and its relevance to European studies, and should be sent by e-mail to Petia Kostadinova ([log in to unmask]) or in hard copy to: CES Speakers Committee Re: Graduate Student Brownbag Series 3324 Turlington Hall POB 117342 Gainesville FL 32611-7342 There is no deadline for submissions and proposals will be reviewed on a regular basis. The brownbag series meets once a week (Tuesdays; 5th period; location TBA) during the academic year. The CES provides chips and sodas, and attendees are encouraged to bring brownbag lunches. The CES will also award one $500 annual award for the best graduate brownbag paper. In order to be considered for the award, students whose proposals were selected for the series will be asked to submit a research paper (on the topic of their brownbag presentation). A hard copy of the paper will be due on the day of the presentation at the above address.
