Zarin UF Translation Studies Certificate Program [log in to unmask] Reply To: [log in to unmask] RE: LEGAL TRANSLATION & INTERPRETATION WORKSHOP: 14 MAY - 22 JUNE 2007 The UF Translation Studies Certificate Program will offer a new workshop Summer A 2007: "Legal Translation and Interpretation." The goals of this workshop are to study translation and interpretation techniques aimed at a professional level of performance in legal settings, as well as an overview of the legal field, its business practices and code of ethics. To achieve this goal, students will translate a variety of real legal documents and practice the skill of interpretation in common legal proceedings. The workshop will be taught by Mr. Antonio Gil, a faculty member of the UF Department of Romance Languages and Literatures. Mr. Gil is an experienced legal interpreter and translator. He serves as interpreter in the Circuit Court of Lane County, Oregon, the Federal Court for the Northern District of Florida, and the Circuit Court of the Eighth District of Florida, as well as for attorneys in Florida and Oregon.
