The Mammalogy Department at the Florida Museum of Natural History is
looking for an OPS half-time hourly PHP programmer. This position will
be charged with assisting the development of a standards-based web
application for collecting, sharing, and publishing biodiversity
information.

Applicants should be comfortable in a multi-platform environment, and
should have working knowledge of the following (in no particular order):

    * HTML and CSS
    * PHP
    * PostgreSQL
    * SVN or CVS
    * Other technologies used in the project include ajax, RDF, LSID,
and XML.

Self-learning and designing efficient and maintainable solutions to
problems are the two most required skills. Candidates should have an
understanding of the mechanics of web development and current best
practices for secure web application design. Code samples will be required.

Minimum requirements: High school diploma and at least one year of any
combination of relevant experience, education and/or certification.
Students will be considered though we will prefer candidates with
existing work experience.

The Florida Museum is a casual work environment. This position will work
with the lead developer on a flexible schedule up to 20 hours per week.

Expected starting pay for this no-benefits position: $15/hr.
