Did HR explain why they won't allow you to use "tutor" for people with
degrees?

We use the term "learning assistant" for all "tutors" on
campus--students as well as folks with degrees.

Subject: Name change for certificated tutors

Dear Colleagues,

We currently have two levels of tutors at our learning centers; a group
of them are student tutors which we refer to as "peer tutors" and the
other group as "senior tutors", which are required to have either a
BA/BS or
MA/MS. Senior tutors normally consist of associate faculty or retired
educators; we have received notification from Human Resources that we
can no longer refer to this level of senior tutors as "tutors". Can
anyone assist me in finding another name for this mentioned
classification of tutors that have degrees? Your assistance and time is
gladly appreciated.

Best regards,

Subject: UK HE Learning support list?

Would there be interest from UK-based learning support workers in HE for
an email list similar to this one, but dedicated to HE in the UK?
