Assistant Dean of Distance Learning (job summary)
Senior administrator whose primary responsibilities are leadership,
planning, budget, evaluation, recruitment and supervision of distance
learning at the college. Report to VP and Dean of Academic Affairs.
Serve on Academic Services Leadership Council. Work with faculty to
assess current program and make recommendations to VP on improvements
aimed at program growth. Supervise small staff of professionals.
Requires Masters, three years experience as coordinator or director of
DL program at institution of higher learning, two years exp. in WebCT or
other course management system, two years exp. in higher ed instruction.
Minimum starting salary $77,160.

TITLE OF POSITION/RANK: Assistant Dean of Distance Learning 
Job Description: 
Senior administrator whose primary responsibilities are leadership,
planning, budget, evaluation, recruitment and supervision of distance
learning at the college. Report to VP and Dean of Academic Affairs.
Serve on Academic Services Leadership Council. Work with faculty to
assess current program and make recommendations to VP on improvements
aimed at program growth. Supervise small staff of professionals. 
Duties: 
*	Develops and administers long range planning for the distance
learning program 
*	Administers the distance learning budget 
*	Conducts research and compiles reports 
*	Assists with recruitment and training of new distance learning
faculty 
*	Seeks external funding for the distance learning program 
*	Participates in conferences and becomes a recognized regional
leader in the field of distance learning 
*	Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President 
Required Knowledge and Skills:
*	Successful experience at another institution of higher learning
as a coordinator of distance learning 
*	Successful experience as a teach of distance learning desirable 
*	Knowledge of laws, policies, and grants regarding distance
learning 
*	Knowledge of good administrative leadership principles - a
leader 
*	Ability to set a vision, plan, implement, and assess 
*	Ability to problem solve toward effective solutions 
*	Excellent communication skills 
*	Excellent relationship building skills with supervisors, peers,
and subordinates 
*	Ability to effectively evaluate assigned personnel and programs 
*	Ability to be resourceful 
Compensation: Minimum starting salary $77,160.
Degree and Experience Required: Masters degree, three years experience
