The NCLCA Institute offers an intimate and personalized professional
development experience.  The institute will provide small group and
interactive learning opportunities mentored by experienced learning center
professionals.  Each expert will make presentations, guide discussions, and
provide mentoring pertinent to your specific needs and situations.  Sharing
problems, building strategies, and networking for program improvement are
all benefits of strengthening these professional friendships.  The number of
participants is limited to 50 for each Institute.

Leadership

The focus of this year's Institute is on Leadership or the process of
individuals working together to accomplish change to benefit the common
good. So, whether your role is a positional leader, such as a Learning
Center Director, or not, as professionals we all serve a leadership role on
our campus and in our profession. 

The 2007 NCLCA Institute will explore leadership from three perspectives:

*	Personal leadership development through an exploration of the newly
introduced NCLCA Learning Center Leadership Certification. 
*	Developing leadership among those in our centers, both staff and
students. 
*	Promoting your center to serve a leadership role on campus.

The Institute will provide you with the opportunity to work with respected
professionals in the field, gathering information on theory and practice
that you can implement on your campus.  Find out more about these

*	Mentor, Dr. Marcy Marinelli, University of Maryland, College Park
*	Mentor, Dr. Stephanie Marsh, United States Military Academy Prep 
*	Mentor, Dr. Saundra McGuire, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge

Registration

Registration includes 3 full-days of Institute participation with leading
learning center experts; keynote presentation and reception on Sunday;
breakfast, lunch and catered breaks throughout the Institute; and the OPTION
of lodging in the Heritage Common Apartments at Miami University.
