and tutorial services.


Associate Director of Student Achievement Services

University of North Carolina Wilmington

The University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for the
position of Associate Director of Student Achievement Services.  This
unit houses the University Learning Services (Writing Center, Tutoring
and Learning Center, Supplemental Instruction) and Disability Services. 

The Associate Director reports to the Director of Student Achievement
Services and is responsible for assisting the director in providing
leadership in developing and administering comprehensive academic
support services. Duties include managing the academic and
administrative functions of the University Learning Services; daily
administration of the Tutoring and Learning Center; supervision of the
Coordinator of Supplemental Instruction and Coordinator of Writing
Center; assisting in the support to students with disabilities;
supervising and training program staff; collaborating with
administration, faculty, staff and students regarding academic support;
and conducting ongoing program assessment. The Associate Director will
be an energetic, innovative, student-centered professional who has
demonstrated effectiveness in communication and program planning and
implementation.

Required Qualifications:
Masters degree in a related area, e.g., English, Reading, Counseling,
TESOL, Composition, Psychology, or Education or an acceptable equivalent
of education and experience is required.  A Doctorate is preferred.
Teaching and administrative experience at the college level, including
demonstrated success in implementing academic support services.
Knowledge of Section 504 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and psycho-educational testing.

Salary is competitive and the position includes a full benefits package.
