4th conference on Applications of Social Network Analysis (ASNA 2007)
September 13/14, 2007, University of Zurich, Institute of Mass Communication
and Media Research
 
The 4th conference on Applications of Social Network Analysis (ASNA 2007)
will again be hosted by the Institute of Mass Communication and Media
Research at the University of Zurich. ASNA 2007 will primarily provide an
interdisciplinary venue with focus on applications of social network
analysis; however, submissions on theoretical and methodological issues
regarding SNA are also welcome. Submissions can take the form of research
designs, theoretical (theory-building) papers or a presentation of research
results, and should be written and presented in English. Abstracts of no
more than 300 words have to be submitted by June 1. You will be notified
about the acceptance of your submission by June 15, and will have to submit
the full paper by August 15. Every paper will be discussed by a respondent,
which means that by presenting every participant agrees to be a respondent
for another paper. Presenters will have the opportunity to make their paper
available to a broader audience on the conference website. Additionally, an
edited volume containing the conference contributions will be published in
2008.
 
Keynote speech, Tom A.B. Snijders
The conference includes a keynote speech by Tom A.B. Snijders, Professor of
Statistics in the Social Sciences at the University of Oxford, England, and
Professor of Methodology and Statistics at the Department of Behavioral and
Social Sciences at the University of Groningen, Netherlands.
 
SIENA Workshop
Prior to the conference, an additional one day- workshop on the statistical
program SIENA (Simulation Investigation for Empirical Network Analysis) will
be conducted by Christian Steglich, post-doc researcher at the ICS research
center and graduate school and the Department of Behavioral and Social
Sciences at the University of Groningen, Netherlands.
 
Please note the following deadlines
- Abstract submission by June 1 (notification of acceptance by June 15)
- Conference registration by August 1
- Full paper submission by August 15
