RE: Common Ground Dove clutch sizes: Per: the Birds of North America on-line
(http://bna.birds.cornell.edu/BNA/) - Bent (1932) reported 3-egg clutches
very rare and clutch size never less then 2. However, there are records of
four, 1-egg clutches, apparently all complete for Cat Island, Bahamas
(Burden 1987) Two 3-egg clutches for Florida (Nicholson 1937) location
undisclosed, but of 27 nests over 3 years in the FL Keys all had 2 eggs.

This would suggest minimal research / data is available on clutch size for
the species across its entire range, but the 4-egg clutch you report
certainly appears anomalous unless multiple females contributed.
