Egan's Wetland (north section) Amelia Island, Nassau County- (2) Solitary Sandpiper, (>8) Lesser Yellowlegs, (>6) Greater Yellowlegs, (2) Stilt Sandpiper, (1) Pectoral Sandpiper, several Short-billed Dowitcher, (1) Killdeer - Cattle Egret, Green Heron and Tri-colored Heron in full alternate plumage - a couple of Merlin loafing around the area - no passerines in the gusty winds, but one Marsh wren heard "gurgling" from concealment and a Sora briefly heard. Most of the shorebirds frequenting distant (from trails) mud flats amongst the dense stands of cord grass.

All shorebirds in fresh alternate plumage with a few "orange-legged" Lesser Yellowlegs. Now's the season to see both shorebirds and waders in their brightest and finest plumage and richest flesh colors.
