Bird Islands, Nassau Sound, Duval Co.: Black and Common Tern nos. beginning to increase with >100 BLTE and >50 COTE sighted this morning. Conversely, Least Tern nos. dropping swiftly with just a handful present >200 Sandwich Tern recorded along with 100s of Royal and a few Caspian tern in the mix. Shorebirds - 69 Willet, >100 Short-billed Dowitchers, >100 Sanderling, 1 (alternate plumage) Black belly Plover, nos: Semipalmated plovers, Rudy Turnstone, Semipalmated sandpiper, Least Sandpiper and ca 300 Red Knot including 16 NA-banded birds and 1 Chilean bird sighted same location this past May.
