FYI - Details for the next ham radio class.

The latest edition of the GARS-sponsored Technician License class will 
get underway 7 p.m. Thursday, October 4 in room P-121 at Santa Fe 
Community College. Lead instructor for the class will again be Warren 
Croke/NW4C with assistance throughout from the Stewart family 
husband-wife team of Jerry/KR4E and Mary/NI4O.

The class will meet for two hours beginning at 7 every Thursday 
evening and last from 6 to 8 weeks. Course material will be presented 
in a lecture-demonstration format supplemented by PowerPoint and 
numerous class handouts. The ARRL Ham radio License Manual (First 
Edition, # 9639) as the base text.

The final exam for the Tech course will be the license examination 
administered by members of the GARS VE team.

Prospective students who already have license manuals can get a head 
start by reading through Chapters 1 and 2. The first hour of class 
will be devoted to a course orientation and distribution of a 62-page 
study guide consisting of the complete question pool keyed to 
appropriate pages in the license manual Coverage of actual course 
material will begin in hour 2.
