Postings from Andy Bankert and the Duncans:
Andy found four Buff-breasted Sandpipers and a Marbled Godwit at the "cut" on the road to Ft. Pickens this morning. In addition there were Short-billed Dowitchers and a number of other regular shorebirds, and "tons of Snowy Plovers." He walked farther west to the first section of dead pines and found an early Dickcissel that posed as photo #2 on his phone camera...right after the killer shot of the Buff-breasted Sandpiper that filled the frame. Back in Gulf Breeze in our yard and neighborhood, the three of us found few migrants, but those included FOS Red-eyed Vireos and Eastern Wood Pewee, as well as Prairie, Yellow, Redstart, N. Waterthrush and Summer Tanager. Then the phone rang. Peggy Baker had found a Female Yellow-headed Blackbird walking around the shrinking pond at the gate to Ft. Pickens. So off Andy went, scoring another good bird.

This has been a really good year for Buff-breasted Sandpipers with a number of reports and individuals here in NW Florida (at least 7 sightings and about 20 birds) and more from adjacent Baldwin County in Alabama.

Still no Olive-sided Flycatcher......but still looking!
