Two Northern Bobwhite were seen and heard yesterday (Sunday) late afternoon 4:30-5:15 in the field on the west side of Oil Well Road after the road curves just prior to Hendry County Prison. Count 8 telephone poles down (Very close to the area where Scissor-tailed Flycatchers and Western Kingbirds have been observed).

It is just where the pasture begins along the fence line 20-30 yards back in the pasture where several cabbage palms grow. They were walking and feeding near the fence and eventually in the open pasture where we observed them for 45 minutes. Another Bobwhite was calling from directly accross the road on the Hendry side from that open field.
