Only small amounts of fuel are needed for ASTM testing.  Passing the
standard specs does not mean that a company is any closer to providing
a stable source of renewable fuels from algae.

Unfortunately solazyme's process of making the algal oil feedstock for
biodiesel involves fermentation in vats and uses a preexisting carbon
source, aka sugar. Not a complete step forward in the algal biodiesel
realm.

but progress of any sort in the field is positive, let's hope for more.
