Assistant Director of Academic Services

*Position Summary:*
The Assistant Director will have responsibility for the coordination and 
oversight of programming and a range of services in the Learning Center, 
including teaching sections of developmental courses, advising CAP 
(College Achievement Program) students, and supervising Learning 

*Position Responsibilities:*
Teach sections of developmental math as needed.
Teach Freshman Seminar for developmental students as needed.
Knowledgeable regarding best practices in peer services, disability 
services, developmental education and learning center supervision.
Schedule and proctor placement testing for incoming students. Maintain 
records of students placed in the College Achievement Program for 
developmental learners. Serve as freshman advisor to CAP students.
Recruit, select, supervise, train, and coordinate the Learning 
Assistants in general access hours in the Center for maximum student use.
Document and certify learning disabilities of students, and act as an 
advocate for accommodations and services to these students.
Work with the Director in developing programs and services as needed to 
assist and serve the developmental and general academic support needs of 
the campus.
Recruit, hire, and train for the Tutor Bank for peer, community, and 
study group tutors. Coordinate all tutor services.
Maintain records and payroll for student workers in the Center.
Maintain information on the CAS website, publications, and forms.

*Position Requirements:*
Masterís degree in Education (or in process)
Background in Developmental Education
Mathematics teaching or tutoring experience
Experience with students who have a spectrum of learning needs
Supervisory experience
Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
Good computer skills
Familiarity with advising and retention initiatives
Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time

Position reports to the Director of Academic Services
Position is full time, administrative faculty
