Frierson Associate Vice President and Dean UF Graduate School RE: CONDITIONAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS In the interest of minimizing student confusion and complaints, please carefully observe these policies for conditional admission cases: 1. Conditional admission must be applied to: a. All applicants with less than 3.0 grade point averages. b. All applicants with missing or unofficial test scores. c. International and Puerto Rican applicants who do not meet any one of these required English proficiency test score minimums: § 213 on the Computer TOEFL. § 6 on the IELTS. § 80 on the Internet TOEFL. § 77 on the MELAB. § 550 on the Paper TOEFL. § 320 on the verbal GRE. 2. Conditional admission cases require both college dean and Graduate School approval before admission can be offered. The Graduate School notifies schools/departments of its decision promptly by e-mail. 3. Please do not send out acceptance letters to conditional admission cases until Screen 007 on NERDC says "Admitted" for them. (Before college and Graduate School approval, it will say "Pending.") 4. Acceptance letters must include these admission conditions as a minimum (your department may increase them at its discretion): a. For conditional admits with below a 3.0 grade point average: "You must finish your first semester with at least a 3.0 grade point average (with no I or W grades) to enroll the next semester or thereafter." b. For conditional admits with missing or unofficial test scores: "You must have official test scores at the UF Office of Admission before the first day of regular registration for your first semester to enroll." c. For international and Puerto Rican applicants who do not meet any one of these required English proficiency test score minimums: "You must take the UF Academic Written English screening test before enrolling. If you do not pass it, you must take and pass EAP 5845 Academic Written English during your first semester to enroll the next semester or thereafter.
