On Tuesday, Sept 23, the VTS will be unavailable starting at noon for an 
application software upgrade.  This is a type 1 outage as mentioned in 
my email of Aug 8:

    "Actions which could or will require a restart of the VTS, that may
    result in a prolonged outage if problems arise, that might need more
    time than just the lunch hour, or that must be done at some time
    other than lunch time."

The last such upgrade occurred on Aug 5 and was for the OS.   When 
actually done on the second attempt it went off without a hitch and was 
completed in around an hour.  This upgrade is for the virtual tape 
server application and we anticipate no problems and a timely 
completion.  However, customers should be prepared for an extended 
outage should problems arise.
