­­­­­­­­Women For Wise Growth will host a forum entitled  Water--The Essence of Life--Does Alachua County Need a Waterkeeper? on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 7:00 PM in the Oak Room at Oak Hammock, 5100 SW 25th Boulevard.

Panelists will be Mark Brown, University of Florida Associate Professor, Environmental Engineering Sciences,  Robert Hutchinson, Executive Director, Alachua Conservation Trust, and Neil Armingeon, St. Johns River Waterkeeper.

A Waterkeeper program reflects the needs of a waterbody and the community it represents.  The common thread for each Waterkeeper program is a full-time person who serves as the Waterkeeper,the public advocate for that body of water.
