Hello BESTSers,

     One of the great things about food waste digestion is that it 
can be used anywhere.  Not only can restaurants and grocery stores 
digest their food waste, but food processors and farmers as well.  
A huge amount of food waste is generated before the product even 
gets to market.  The Canadian government is investing $1.6 million 
to develop an anerobic digestion facility for this purpose.  The 
project will not only raise revenue from energy but from selling 
the effluent as an organic fertilizer.  Digestion of farm food 
waste allows the effluent to be used directly on the farm to grow 
more crops.
