Hello BESTers,

B9 Energy, a Northern-Ireland based company, will be
constructing a cargo ship entirely free of fossil fuels. It will
be powered 60% by sails and 40% by biogas from food waste
digestion. The ship will be used to haul wood pellets for biomass
energy from the Baltic region to the UK. This got me thinking
that food waste digestion would be an ideal way to power cruise
ships, where there is certainly plenty of food waste. They could
create their own power right on board with what they're already
carrying. Biogas has endless possibilities as a transportation
fuel both on land and at sea.
