REMINDER Date: 5 October 2010 To: All Graduate Students Cc: All Graduate Coordinators and Staff RE: 2010 NSF RESEARCH DAY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA I-Cubed Program in collaboration with UF Graduate School will be holding 2010 NSF Research Day on October 25-26, 2010 at Reitz Union: 25 October 2010 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. - Poster Reception in Grand Ballroom 26 October 2010 from 8:00am - 4:00 p.m. - Keynote Speaker, panels, etc. - Room-282 The event is open to all graduate and undergraduate students, as well as postdoctoral fellows, researchers and faculty. Call for Abstracts: The NSF Research Day poster session is open to all graduate students in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics), including SBE (social, behavioral & economic), disciplines. The I-Cubed program encourages students to submit abstracts for consideration as poster presentations. Posters will be displayed in a formal Poster Reception with authors available for material discussion on October 25th from 5:00-7:00pm. All accepted abstracts will be published in the Book of Abstracts to be distributed at the NSF Research Day, as well as posted on the program website, http://i3.institutes.ufl.edu/ First Time This Year! - NSF Research Day will feature a Poster Contest with awards given to the highest-scoring posters in four categories. The poster winners will receive a $200 award (or $300 for the Communicating Science category) that can be used for research related travel and/or lab supplies. There will be also honorable mentions for seven posters. The posters will be judged by a team of faculty and graduate students during the Poster Reception on October 25th. Participation in the poster contest is optional; you may submit an abstract for a poster without entering the contest.
