The 2nd  University of Florida Water Institute Symposium begins tomorrow Wednesday February 24 at 8:30am the Gainesville Hilton!

 

The theme of the symposium is Sustainable Water Resources: Complex Challenges, Integrated Solutions.   The symposium includes a mix of more than 200 invited and contributed oral, poster and panel presentations addressing complex water issues from multiple perspectives A recent addition to Thursday’s agenda includes a report from Senator Lee Constantine, Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Florida’s Inland Waters on the status of that Committee.

 

For those unable to attend in person, the opening and closing plenary sessions will be broadcast by streaming video.

Panel: Sustainable Water Resources - Recent Progress, New Challenges, Future Trends
(moderator: Wendy Graham, Water Institute Director, University of Florida Water Institute)

This panel consists of a diverse group of scientists, engineers, managers and policy makers representing agriculture, industry, public water supply, non-governmental organization and public agency interests at state, national and global levels. Panel members will discuss major challenges to water resource sustainability from a variety of personal and institutional perspectives, as well as recent breakthroughs and future actions needed to ensure progress toward sustainability. The panel will conclude with open questions and dialogue with the audience.
