Assistant Director of the Academic Learning Center

Albright College seeks an Assistant Director for its Academic Learning Center, which is the hub of academic support at the College and oversees tutoring, academic counseling, academic probation programs, and disability services.  The Assistant Director reports to the Assistant Dean/ Director of the ALC and works with the Director to develop and provide academic support services and academic-related retention programs.  The Assistant Director will serve as a resource for both students and faculty by developing academic and learning skills for students in both group and individual sessions.  This person will collaborate closely with faculty and other College units on educational outreach and student matters. The Assistant Director will have significant direct contact with at-risk students and students with disabilities, as well as other student populations, and will serve as an academic counselor supplementing our faculty advising system.  The successful candidate will have an earned master's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of three years of experience in academic administration related to student academic support programs.  Expertise/credentials as learning specialist or developmental educator a plus.  Familiarity with coordinating reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities strongly preferred, as is knowledge of assistive and educational technologies.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated commitment to student success, and an ability to work collaboratively are a must.
