Hello BESTers,

The town of Minoa, NY will be constructing a biodigester at its
wastewater treatment plant to treat both municipal sewage sludge
and food waste from residents and local schools. By co-digesting
these two organic wastes, it will kill two birds with one stone.
The resulting biogas will be used on-site to reduce energy costs
at the treatment plant, while the effluent will be used as an
organic fertilizer. Similar projects could certainly be
replicated in municipalities across the nation; the technology
could be a great solution for universities to adopt for on-campus
treatment of their organic wastes.

Have a great weekend,
Ryan
