Director of Academic Initiatives

Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY seeks a Director of Academic
Initiatives, a key member of the Academic advisement Center team. 
This
challenging, multi-faceted twelve-month position, involves working
with
students both in a classroom setting and in the Academic Support
Center.
Responsibilities include collaborating with the academic advisement
team in its efforts to support the success and retention of Le Moyne
undergraduates; organizing, implementing and evaluating the College’s
peer tutoring program; developing and monitoring academic success
plans
for students on academic probation and other at-risk populations;
assisting with academic support for HEOP/AHANA students; helping to
maintain student academic standing; participating in the first-year
experience and its advising program; and overseeing evaluation of the
Center's programs and services, including coordination of its database
and budget.  

QUALIFICATIONS:
·        Master’s degree in higher education or closely related field;

·        Minimum of three years of related experience in higher
education; 
·        Experience in teaching and working directly with students
from
diverse ethnic, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds at the
college level; 
·        Familiarity with developmental academic advising and
experience with developmental learning pedagogy including learning
styles and strategies; 
·        Direct experience in overseeing program budgets; 
·        Superior computer skills, including facility with databases
and course management software (e.g., Blackboard); and 
·        Ability to implement program evaluation and research
activities, including data collection and analysis.
