Sorry Vince. I replied to this (below) and it was sent to you instead of list.
I am wondering about House Finches. Why do I have them in my back yard all the time and the guides don't show them as being in Florida?

Not going anywhere special and just around town and my yard I have 41 species. All pretty common. Saw a Swallow-tailed Kite today. Always fun to watch them.

Subject: [FLBIRDS] June Challenge Update

I picked up 10 species today for my Collier County June Challenge,
ringing the total to 89 species. It's getting harder to find anything
ew to add! I went to Tigertail Beach/Marco Island and had the
ollowing: Burrowing Owl (x4), American Oystercatcher (x1), Roseate
poonbill (x5), Red Knot (x3), Black-bellied Plover (x3), Semipalmated
lover (x5), Wilson's Plover (x4), Sanderling (x6), Short-billed
owitcher (x11) & Black Skimmer (x550). The latter is part of a huge
reeding colony along with half as many Least Terns also a breeding
olony. Both colonies busy feeding young. Tomorrow it's Corkscrew
wamp Sanctuary in hopes of finding Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Yellow-
illed Cuckoo, White-eyed Vireo, Carolina Wren, Brown-headed Nuthatch
Northern Parula. Also possible before the end of the month: Brown
hrasher, Northern Flicker, Northern Bobwhite, Yellow-crowned Night-
eron & Brown-headed Cowbird among others, taking my total over 100
pecies -- my target. . . .
